Melissa founded Edwards Jeffery while bringing up three “spirited” young children (admittedly, not her exact choice of words…) and, for the first couple of years, was out working from the van on her own.
During her first few months, she somehow managed to operate out of a small Citroen Berlingo van, packed to the rafters with a Prowler truckmount machine and other assorted carpet cleaning equipment.
It wasn’t unusual for her to pull up on jobs with a vacuum resting across her lap, such was the lack of space!
The first couple of years were spent working on the tools by day and delivering leaflets and knocking doors on evenings and weekends.
Needless to say, she remembers those days “fondly…”
Fast forward several years, and she’s grown the business to its current position of employing four full-time technicians.
Her enthusiasm can be contagious and she loves a challenge.
Her current hobbies (they can change with the wind…) include indoor rowing, reading and sewing.
Here’s a review from one of Melissa’s recent customers:
When asked to describe David, Melissa was initially lost for words.
Devilishly handsome, sophisticated and of towering intellect…
Were words that most definitely were not used.
In fact, when a recent customer asked if they could have that “charming young man again” Melissa was genuinely baffled as to who they were referring to.
Such is married life!
David started his adult life leaping out of aeroplanes as a member of The Parachute Regiment, before settling for the safer career of carpet and upholstery cleaning.
He’s forever starting (and prematurely ending) diets but loves lifting heavy things and is a voracious reader.

Adam Parfitt(Adam pictured with Gareth Thomas after cleaning his upholstery recently)
Adam joined Edwards Jeffery three years ago as a fresh-faced 21 year old and has proved a committed and invaluable member of our team.
Adam usually starts his day with several cups of coffee and the odd red bull or two, such is his difficulty in coming to terms with that hideous daily event known as “the morning.”
Despite this, Adam always has a smile on his face and never complains even when working long into the night in the depths of a freezing winter.
Adam loves tinkering with cars and, in all honesty, it used to be difficult to know what he would be driving on any given day.
Now a new father, these days you’ll find him driving a more sensible speed limited little Kia.
hates loves it.
Here’s a review from one of Adam’s recent customers:
He may be our most recent addition to the team, but Jonathan has already proved his worth and has taken to carpet and upholstery cleaning like a duck to water.
Very conscientious, friendly and chatty, all Jon’s customer feedback has been superb.
He’ll also turn his hand to anything and has added much-needed mechanical and technical knowhow to the team!
The tidiest member of the team (by a country mile!), there’s never a screw out of place on Jon’s van (unless Adam has borrowed it…).
Jon has also befriended the local redbreast robin who flies by our unit each morning for a crust of bread…
Jonathan loves mountain biking and his only day off sick since joining Edwards Jeffery coincided with a split bike helmet, concussion and a visit to hospital!
